About
Stopping Power

We are a family run business that offers a professional and efficient coating service using Cerakote, as well as brake caliper and disc rebuilding.

CerakotePotSmallGold.jpg

The business was founded by Lewis in 2015; after rebuilding brake calipers for himself this quickly turned from a hobby to a business due to high demand. Having a huge interest in the mechanics of all things vehicular gave him the knowledge to be able to get almost anything done.

Over the years a better solution to paint or powder coat was needed for the brake calipers that were being rebuilt. This is where he found Cerakote – and never looked back.

The company now offers coatings and restorative work for just about anything you can think of, including business requests as our attention to detail, unrivalled coatings and professionalism is required.

About Cerakote

Cerakote is a thin ceramic polymer based film coating that is extremely durable,  abrasions proof, and is hugely resistant to both heat and chemicals. Unlike other coatings, Cerakote is resistant to chemicals like acetone, thinners, brake fluid and many others. In some cases is heat resistant to 2000°f with thermal shock, and because it is a thin film coating, it doesn't chip like traditional paints and powder options.

FAQs

Here at Stopping Power we're used to answering lots of questions, so jumping on a call or getting back to your email is no problem, but if you want a really quick answer we've compiled a list of the stuff we're asked all the time.

  • Where are you based?
We're in the United Kingdom and handle all the Cerakote applications internally ourselves. Most remedial work is carried out in our own workshop, but we do occasionally call on trusted partners when something specialised is required.
  • How long does it take to receive a quote for my parts?
As you can appreciate, every job is different so we need to verify the specifics of your project before proceeding. We aim to answer initial requests within 1-2 business days (Mon-Fri). If it takes longer than this, please feel free to reach out to us using the contact form.
  • How long does it take to get my finished items back?
As you can imagine, we have very busy periods, like leading up to the summer, or in the winter when vehicles are taken off the road for maintenance. We try to advise turnaround times when quoting, which range from 3-5 working days for most items (plus delivery).
  • What happens if I need my parts quickly?
We try our best to treat every customer equally, but we do understand there are certain instances when a rush job is needed. If this is the case reach out to us and we will advise on what's possible
  • What warranty do you offer?
Cerakote = 12 months from receipt of delivery Remedial work = 6 months from receipt of delivery Please note that we will require the item to be sent to us (at your cost) to determine the cause of the fault. If it's determined to be an issue with the process, we will cover the cost to resolve and return to the original customer.
  • What delivery service do you use?
We use ParcelForce and Royal Mail as we find they are very reasonable for large bulky items and efficient.
  • How do I pay for goods?
No payment is taken through the website at the initial quote stage. Only once we've spoken to you and finalised your requirements, will we send an invoice for payment. An invoice for the agreed work will be sent and a bank transfer will be required before goods are dispatched.
  • Why use Cerakote over other options?
Cerakote Ceramic Coatings offers excellent adhesion even after repeated thermal cycling whilst providing superior protection against corrosion. Please follow this link for an in depth understanding of Cerakote as a product Cerakote United Kingdom - Cerakote UK Ceramic Coatings
  • Can we send in samples?
For businesses looking for a coating partner, please contact us to discuss having samples completed.
  • What is an FAQ section?
An FAQ section can be used to quickly answer common questions about you or your business, such as “Where do you ship to?”, “What are your opening hours?” or “How can I book a service?” It’s a great way to help people navigate your site and can even boost your site’s SEO.
